Fast Blues

Both the dance and music for "Fast Blues" were improvised within a set structure. It was Cunningham's intention that the dance and music would be free to operate separately, but, as he recalled, "the idea of separation didn't work – I couldn't get [Baby Dodds] to be separate, because if I changed he would very quickly realize that and he would change with me."
