Five Stone

“Five Stone” was the first part of a longer work entitled “Five Stone Wind.” Having received two commissions, one from Werkstatt Berlin 1988 and another jointly from the Festival d’Avignon and the Paris Festival d’Automne, Cunningham decided to make one long work rather than two separate dances. “Five Stone” was performed only six times as a stand-alone work, four times in Berlin and once each in Duisberg and Cologne.
