Princess Zondilda and Her Entourage, The

The complete title of the dance was "The Princess Zondilda and Her Entourage: A Theatrical Fantasy by Merce Cunningham, In Three Acts." The three acts, called "Swift Prologue," "Royal Procession," and "Swift Epilogue," included spoken text written by Cunningham. "It was like a little medieval play," Cunningham recalled. The music, for chamber ensemble, was conducted by the composer Alexei Haieff.
